The Franciscan Museum and Gallery Gorica grew out of the Franciscans' long-standing commitment to preserving cultural heritage. The institution's beginnings go back to 1896, when an initiative was launched to display a collection of old weapons in the monastery's rooms. Over time the collection expanded, and in 1995 the institution was established as an independent body and the Gabriel Jurkić Memorial Gallery was opened.
